IPCop.org FAQs (frequently-asked questions)

Category: Main -> Configuring client computers

Question

Answer

How do I configure Microsoft Windows clients?

The easiest way is to set IPCop to serve DHCP addresses and set your client computers to 'automatically get ip address', or to use DHCP. This works for Windows clients, Linux clients and Macintosh clients, just to name a few.

For Windows 95 clients, in the Network Control Panel, in Microsoft TCP/IP properties, click the IP Address tab. Select the option 'Obtain an IP address automatically'.
